The key can be obtained by completing the following questline (Starts just outside Karazhan, with Archmage Alturus, an Archmage of the The Violet Eye (46,75)):
[70] Archmage Alturus: Lower City; optional talk to NPC, 5 rep with Violet Eye
[70] Arcane Disturbances: Deadwind Pass; standard soloable exploration quest
[70] Restless Activity: Deadwind Pass; standard soloable kill quest, can be done at the same time as above
[70] Contact from Dalaran: Dalaran; talk to NPC
[70] Khadgar: Talk with Khadgar in Shattrath City
[70] Entry Into Karazhan: Dungeon; first key part to be found in the Shadow Labyrinth, Auchindoun
[70] The Second and Third Fragments: Two dungeons; the second key part is found in The Steamvault and the third key part is found in Arcatraz
[70] The Master's Touch: Dungeon; Talk with Medivh in the Opening the Dark Portal (Black Morass) instance in Caverns of Time. He'll give you his own key.
[70] Return to Khadgar: Soloable; just return to Khadgar
The whole questline rewards 2100 reputation with the Violet Eye. Before patch 2.4, that fact could be used to look up if someone has The Master's Key in the Armory. Now that a player can enter Karazhan without the key, it can't be used anymore.

Just FYI - there's still value in doing this quest, because even though yer allowed in withouts the key now, if ya don't got it someone's still gotta unlock the gate fer ya.

Guildless.

Me and Wulfa are now guildless. This came as kinda a shock and with no communication from the deciding party. I'm currently looking for a guild for us. We are not "raiders" and will never be. We do research our gear and fights and in general our classes. We are looking for a guild that we can be a part of, chat with, and not be expected to raid or be on specific times. I think that means we're looking for a "social" guild. We are primarily alliance but once finances get squared away(aka my bonus arrives) we could possibly convert to horde. If anyone knows of any guilds that they would recommend please let us know.

The Cat is Out of the Bag

I wonder where that expression comes from? There is this fabulous book that can tell you, only I forgot the name of it. Next time I come across it I think I'm going to have to buy it. Anyway. I was going to wait. A long time. Maybe forever. I don't like people coming up and hugging me, smiling and saying congratulations, or asking me questions. But Damm was talking to his recruiter about insurance. And he mentioned something that he should've told the recruiter was non-repeatable, because 5 minutes later the recruiter told Damm's mother (I have no earthly idea why he's talking to her-I keep forgetting to ask). After that I had to tell my mother. We haven't told any extended family members because there are quite a few here celebrating Damm's mother's graduation and that would be the worst form of torture I can imagine. So yeah, I'm knocked up again :P And this time I'm getting the t-shirt. "It" is due August 11. I have not been to a doc...

Programming.

Someone enlighten me. I keep running into this idea with certain people I talk to. "Why are you charging me for this custom program? It has already been written for another bank. All of the work is already done." I've tried explaining that programs are like books. Even though you only wrote it once you charge it multiple times. I've tried explaining that custom programs are like our software product. You have to pay for YOUR copy, even though we've already written and sold copies to other people. The last person I tried to explain this to told me that I "shouldn't argue with the customer". /sigh This isn't a complex idea.
