LeetRaider

So guess who hit 80 and NEVER remembered to train?

Yep, that would be me.

Just found that out last night when I participated in my first ever 10-man in Wrath. Talk about embarrassing.

But I think the raid went well. I seem to remember Karazhan taking a long time to get through and now it feels like we go in, can take on almost the entire thing at once, and still survive. In fact when we wiped (on Kael'Thas, I think Naxx) it took me by surprise because I had been lulled into thinking we were invincible. And promptly after wiping meself, bro-in-law 1 and bro-in-law 2 stood too close together after repeated instructions NOT to stand close together and all three of us went down. Wipe #2. After that we successfully downed him but an abomination took one to many swipes at me so I went down right as the fight started. Got rezzed right before the end. Got the head piece, 34 badges of triumph (not all from that one place, I just had noticed how many I had and that I could probably start getting better gear now).

Anyway, fun stuff. I was completely off baby aggro thanks to Damm so it was a nice break. I actually could talk on Vent, although I really didn't take advantage of that fact. I don't like speaking. I tend to freeze up. In English and in Spanish. If you don't speak directly at me I'm fine. But the moment you ask me a question-especially if I'm not prepared for it-I freeze. But that is off-topic.

I think that about the time I get better gear for Wulfa the new expansion will be out and I will have to start all over. But at least I won't be having a baby and a husband absentee for training. I might actually get to play. I really like our Friday night Saturday night play WoW setup. I feel absolutely no guilt about not doing schoolwork/housework because I really have not had a break since the last Friday and Saturday night. It's awesome.

And that's it about raiding/gear/etc. I'm not really the one you should go to for info since I just found out how to tell if the level of gear you're wearing/contemplating is lvl 200 or not. And I would have to look in my Achievements to tell you precisely which instances I went through (all of 'em garnered the achievement for me ... woot for points!).

But that's not why I play.

I play so me and my cat/wolf/bear can be free. Free to roam the open range. Free to stop and smell the roses. Heh. The truth is I just don't have the mental capability right now to devote to WoW or I would be able to tell you about gear and the really cool places you could go to take down deadly bosses.

Maybe in three years or so when I finish my degree:)

Healing thoughts:

I respecced my resto druid this week. I had somehow missed Nature's splendor. Also I had 5/5 in Naturalist and 2/2 in Improved Tranquility.

Now I -like- improved tranquility and taking the 2 points from there is something I"m only trying. I have used the spell to save parties many times and 0 threat from doing so is a nice thing for a pugging healer.

5/5 naturalist, however was a complete waste. The only time I -ever- use healing touch is in combination with Nature's Swiftness so reducing its cast time is a waste of 5 talents. These talents were used instead to help me reach Nature's Splendor in the balance tree.

I moved the Improved Tranquility points over to empowered touch. I'm using nourish more and more and more(still less than Regrowth I think but about even). With my new 2piece bonus from t9 I'm even more likely to. Just from talents and gear I now have a 37% crit chance for nourish. Throw in my 13% spell crit from stats... and yeah that spell is very likely to be used even more.

Speaking of gear. I've had a lot of lovely drops lately. This staff, these boots from a guildie, these pants, this trinket from Wulfa after Malcik was given it for free by a stranger and I whined, this and this from the vendor, and finally this chest and these bracers. Oh and also a guildee who I helped out fully gemmed me and enchanted me.

Other than the bracers and shoulders all of that came this week. And now:
1757 spellpower in treeform(1991 when my idol procs).
281 haste rating
442 mana regen(246 while casting)
16011 mana

With self casted Mark of the Wild.

Life is finally really good gear wise. I'm very happy and can't wait to heal with all the new things(although I'm proud that I did heroic FoS without half of it(and before I did regular FoS or PoS).)

Dude who stole my towel?!!!

My gym requires you to have a towel when you work out. I think that's great-it's more likely you'll mop up that patch of sweat you left on the weight machine.

I start out my workout on the treadmill. That's where I was this morning, doing sprints, and VOOM there goes my towel off the treadmill. I had 12 minutes left. I have yet to discover how to pause the darn machine and successfully make it go again without reseting ALL of my data (I know which buttons to push but it's never turned out right). So I figure that I'll just get it when I'm done. It's right behind me, minding it's own business.

AND THEN SOME HELPFUL PERSON TOOK MY TOWEL. NO NO. STOLE. MY. TOWEL.

After the first rush of rage (come on! I was right there! It was obviously mine!) it occurred to me that they might have turned it in thinking that some poor soul had lost their towel without which you can't workout. So I decided to head over to the front desk. First I check the trashcan-just in case-and thankfully nothing there. Ask the young man at the front desk and no-nothing turned in. Initial rage returns-WHO STEALS A SWEATY TOWEL? Fortunately I had one in the car so I could continue my workout.

That is WAY too much drama for 4:30 am. And it is indicative of our no room to budge schedule. I am not usually one to fly off the handle.

Probably increased my calorie burning for the morning, though.

Rage. Over a towel.

That's just not right.

But seriously-WHO steals a sweaty towel?

Links.

I just wanted to point at two articles from collision Detection a blog I sometimes follow.

I liked both of them:

Physics pain.

Okay so before I get to the bit that the title is about I just want you to know a few things.

My ranking for the webcomics I've read in the past decade based on Art, Story, and general
enjoyment:

That was the answer to my problem the other day. The one about the charged ring. Following you'll see my
current bane and hate filled nemesis.

A cube has one corner at the origin and the opposite corner at the point (L,L,L). The sides of the cube are parallel to the coordinate planes. The electric field in and around the cube is given by \vec{E} = (a+b x)\hat{x} + c\hat{y}.

Find the total electric flux Phi_E through the surface of the cube.
Express your answer in terms of a, b, c, and L.

hahahahahahaha [the crying starts here]
