Some thoughts:

Please read the following:

http://www.pvponline.com/2008/08/08/why-we-insulate/

Now that you are back. I have to agree. I really do.

I mean sure... it can be incredibly helpful if you are building a machine and someone comes along and says "hey man that screw is loose...if you tighten it you'll get more torque".

But when you are creating something artistic, the critics... well... they don't matter. Because you -will- fall on your face. You will write a horrible piece of lit that shouldn't ever see the light of day. But if you listen and hear someone tell you it was crap... most of the time you won't do it again. People tend to not bounce back from negative responses and try again. People tend to avoid the negative. So if you are a tender artistic soul.... don't listen... no matter what they say they aren't right.

That said I'm sure there are hard boiled tough experimenters who listen and filter. Maybe. I think though that those souls have simply developed a good circle of councilers and they 'look' like they listen to critics...but they are simply being polite....and thinking about cookies.

Anyways, I figured I'd share my thoughts on this.

Any criticism, even if it is constructive, runs the risk of derailing your creativity.

I used to participate in sites that let you post a photo, and other people could post criticism with the intention of improving your work. Over time I started to realize that everyone's photos on that site started to look the same after a while.

It is one of those things that can be discussed forever, because there is no real answer.

You know Dammy, I'd read that post by him under a recent comic, which is funny, since I usually don't read them.

And I agree with you, it was well written and I agree with many of his points.

Guildless.

Me and Wulfa are now guildless. This came as kinda a shock and with no communication from the deciding party. I'm currently looking for a guild for us. We are not "raiders" and will never be. We do research our gear and fights and in general our classes. We are looking for a guild that we can be a part of, chat with, and not be expected to raid or be on specific times. I think that means we're looking for a "social" guild. We are primarily alliance but once finances get squared away(aka my bonus arrives) we could possibly convert to horde. If anyone knows of any guilds that they would recommend please let us know.

The Cat is Out of the Bag

I wonder where that expression comes from? There is this fabulous book that can tell you, only I forgot the name of it. Next time I come across it I think I'm going to have to buy it. Anyway. I was going to wait. A long time. Maybe forever. I don't like people coming up and hugging me, smiling and saying congratulations, or asking me questions. But Damm was talking to his recruiter about insurance. And he mentioned something that he should've told the recruiter was non-repeatable, because 5 minutes later the recruiter told Damm's mother (I have no earthly idea why he's talking to her-I keep forgetting to ask). After that I had to tell my mother. We haven't told any extended family members because there are quite a few here celebrating Damm's mother's graduation and that would be the worst form of torture I can imagine. So yeah, I'm knocked up again :P And this time I'm getting the t-shirt. "It" is due August 11. I have not been to a doc...
