Christmas Tree

My Christmas tree is up. I love having the lights on at night, with Christmas music playing ... November and December are my favorite months. January is New Years and the Super Bowl. I don't care about the Super Bowl but there are parties so that makes it fun. February is Valentines, March is my birthday, April is our anniversary, and May, well there's nothing in May. Nothing in June either. July is the Orclette's birthday, August is boring, September is boring, and then there's October. That's when the anticipation begins, the stores start receiving their holiday displays and stock. Halloween is there but we've never done that one and I don't have any desire to do so. Sooo ...

What music/movies do you crave during the holiday season? What foods? What traditions must you do to make it feel special? And, if you are not the Christmas type, how do you survive the season? I ask because I'd love to expand my holiday collection of music/movies, and I love hearing how other people enjoy this most special time of year. And, if you believe in the Grinch, let me know and I won't bother you with all the Christmas minutiae that I'll be full up with :D

You know, this is a very bad time of year to be in the desert. Very bad indeed ..... no White Christmas. /sniff. No fireplace ...... no real need for steaming mugs of hot cocoa and cider ...... but you know what? I'm 24. 25? No, 24. 2008-1984. 24. And that means I can buy that special bottle of wine for Damm and I to enjoy. Ha! I'm an adult! Hehe. Oh that makes me feel better. (And yes, I really do have to take a moment and figure out my age. I never think about it, see, and it's also genetic. My mum doesn't remember how old she is and never remembers when I was born-although I think that's because she believes that you're only as old as you think you are and since she can't remember, she doesn't age. Heck, she's competing in 1/2 Ironmans and she's somewhere past 50 ....bah humbug I forgot to call her to see how she did. /bad daughter.)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And Thanksgiving in there somewhere!

My latest favorite Christmas music (I, who started listening to it on November 1st?)

- All the Transiberian Orchestra Christmas albums (there are 3)
- Straight No Chaser: Holiday Spirits. You may have seen their hilarious 12 Days of Christmas video circulating on Youtube last year. They have a full Christmas album this year and it is awesome!
- Sarah McLachlan: Wintersong. Haunting harmonies... just simply haunting. Exceedingly well sung and produced album.

Granted, over half of my iPod is Christmas music, so i am not going to go through everything. But those are this year's highlights.

Well, it's a still a little too early for me to think about Christmas. I'm more of an "It's not even Thanksgiving yet" kind of guy.

Anyway, my favorite Christmas music is close to Barr's. I've got the Mannheim Steamroller "Christmas" CD. There are 2 versions of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" on there one right before the other and the first just leads in very well to the second. =D Lots of fun.

Wow, kind early for the tree :) But definitely my movies to put me in Christmas mood have to include Nightmare before Christmas (dual-holiday use!) and Elf with Will Ferrell, and occasionally Christmas Story if I'm feeling nostalgic. I don't really have any particular Christmas music though.

Guildless.

Me and Wulfa are now guildless. This came as kinda a shock and with no communication from the deciding party. I'm currently looking for a guild for us. We are not "raiders" and will never be. We do research our gear and fights and in general our classes. We are looking for a guild that we can be a part of, chat with, and not be expected to raid or be on specific times. I think that means we're looking for a "social" guild. We are primarily alliance but once finances get squared away(aka my bonus arrives) we could possibly convert to horde. If anyone knows of any guilds that they would recommend please let us know.

New Stuff

On being Horde.

Obviously we no longer play Horde side. Wulfa has a 70, 45, 32 and numerous other alliance alts now. I've got a 63, 46, 20, 16, 11, 8, 8 Alliance side(all my alliance alts are new since we moved over to Kael'thas, wulfa's playing two characters that already existed before our horde characters were started). But we are two and a half ORCS. Not two and a half random alliance characters. This makes it hard sometimes when I see links to my site or I see a horde shaman etc. It is kind of like going back to your home town and seeing people you used to know and they ask you how your ex-girlfriend is doing. They don't know you split up. You don't really want to talk about it. Etc. Sometimes I think fondly about getting on my Horde shaman and leveling a bit. Nothing ever comes of it. And even less will in the future as I get further and further away from wanting to play those toons. There are things I like on the Alliance side. I like the Dreanai. A lot. Even th...
