Backyard plans.

We have a LOT of plans for the backyard. Here are some pictures to show you what they are.

The yellow circle shows you where we're gonna plant sunflowers. Despite it being in shade the last two hours of the day it is in pure sunlight the rest of the day.

That red circle. That shows you our newest planter. Lots of partial shade flowers and a new coat of paint possibly.

And finally the full view. The area along the wall in front of and behind the boat will have nice polished river stones eventually. The wooden "dock" itself is going to have a coat of whatchamacallit to help prevent any FURTHER weather damage. We are going to get some nice packing sand and sprinkle it over the brick walkway to fill in the gaps.

If we are here for the full three years we plan to then we will add grass in the middle on the right side of the path and try to grow some kind of spreading fern on the left. Further updates as they come.

My recommendation, plant some perennials, native species that produce nectar and seeds and are appropriate for the climate. Less maintenance then. That will bring birds and butterflies to your yard as well.

Sunflowers are a good choice. We sometimes get them in our garden from seeds dropped by the birds. It is really neat watching a goldfinch tear into one.

Guildless.

Me and Wulfa are now guildless. This came as kinda a shock and with no communication from the deciding party. I'm currently looking for a guild for us. We are not "raiders" and will never be. We do research our gear and fights and in general our classes. We are looking for a guild that we can be a part of, chat with, and not be expected to raid or be on specific times. I think that means we're looking for a "social" guild. We are primarily alliance but once finances get squared away(aka my bonus arrives) we could possibly convert to horde. If anyone knows of any guilds that they would recommend please let us know.

The Cat is Out of the Bag

I wonder where that expression comes from? There is this fabulous book that can tell you, only I forgot the name of it. Next time I come across it I think I'm going to have to buy it. Anyway. I was going to wait. A long time. Maybe forever. I don't like people coming up and hugging me, smiling and saying congratulations, or asking me questions. But Damm was talking to his recruiter about insurance. And he mentioned something that he should've told the recruiter was non-repeatable, because 5 minutes later the recruiter told Damm's mother (I have no earthly idea why he's talking to her-I keep forgetting to ask). After that I had to tell my mother. We haven't told any extended family members because there are quite a few here celebrating Damm's mother's graduation and that would be the worst form of torture I can imagine. So yeah, I'm knocked up again :P And this time I'm getting the t-shirt. "It" is due August 11. I have not been to a doc...

Programming.

Someone enlighten me. I keep running into this idea with certain people I talk to. "Why are you charging me for this custom program? It has already been written for another bank. All of the work is already done." I've tried explaining that programs are like books. Even though you only wrote it once you charge it multiple times. I've tried explaining that custom programs are like our software product. You have to pay for YOUR copy, even though we've already written and sold copies to other people. The last person I tried to explain this to told me that I "shouldn't argue with the customer". /sigh This isn't a complex idea.
