Face washing, honey and Dr. Bronner

I had previously written about my experience with honey and what life was like after concluding my honey experiment. I have since switched from Burt's Bees to Dr. Bronner's and I think it's working well. Burt's Bees just wasn't clearing up my face the way I thought it should be and it was only partly natural. Dr. Bronner's is natural and cheap so it was a logical next step. I also bought a witch hazel toner with lavender. Here's the routine:

#1 Wash face with Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree bar soap.
#2 Use Lavender Witch Hazel Toner
#3 Tea Tree oil on any problem areas. Let dry.
#4 Burt's Bees Royal Jelly moisturizer for the day and jojoba oil at night
#5 Honey overnight on any problem areas

I have omitted the baking soda mask because I felt like it was too harsh for my skin. I still concoct a baking soda scrub once a week and I feel that works much better (1 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. tea tree oil and 1/2 tsp. water) than subjecting my skin to it every night. Honey is still the best thing for problem areas and it seems to be helping with some slight scarring issues.

My face looks much healthier and is almost glowing. I have also transitioned my diet to a Paleo approach and I feel that is helping.

I will note that my face seems to like change; any time I switch products I notice an immediate difference. This might mean that my face is like my stomach and likes variety, in which case I will give it variety. My local health food store has several skin care brands I'd love to try (Jason, Kiss my Face, etc.).

What do you use? And if you've found a way to eliminate all facial issues please feel free to let me know:)

Happy Monday!

I use the Mary Kay Botanical Effects in formula 3 most of the time. My skin is really oily and I've found that the Botanicals actually control oil for me better than the Mary Kay Timewise.

As far as what I use to help with scarring, Timewise Night Solution (contains vitamins A, E, and C in liquid form) actually has cleared up my acne scarring.

I've also got extremely sensitive skin. So once I find something that doesn't irritate me, I stay with it.

I recently started using the Simple face cleanser, and I really like it. I still have problem areas, but the non-problem areas feel SO clean and healthy after I use it (if that makes any sense). The rest of my skin care products are sort of a hodge podge, but I think I may switch over to Simple as I run out of things and have to buy more. Only they don't have a spot treatment that I've seen. Perhaps I should try honey?

@ Dawn: I know my mom likes Mary Kay. Maybe I can get her to order some for me:)

@ Charleen: I think honey works wonderfully as a spot treatment. It doesn't make it go away overnight but maybe in 2 or 3 days for me rather than a week. It is also supposed to help with scarring. The drawback is that it's messy, so I use it at night and either use a bandaid or put a towel on my pillow. I still end up with sticky hair sometimes. And of course it needs to be raw honey, not the kind that comes in the bear bottle.

Oh and another thing I've thought about trying is Lavender Essential Oil. What one blogger suggested was soaking a cotton ball in it and leaving it on the desired area for an hour (I'm thinking a bandaid to keep it in place). It worked wonders for her, and I have read other success stories about using the lavender.

RAMBLY Political Responses.

Sub-Teach, On monday, I had about 80% of this written as a reply to your comment before I figured I should just drop it into a post. Yay for thought spam from simple commentary. To be clear: I'm not anti-our-current-president. I didn't like his solution for the recession(the bailout(which was started by our previous president)) but I'm certainly not blaming the recession on him. I understand that it was my dear party that thought you could spend AND cut taxes at the same time. I'm not really in favor of the way in which the other party wants to extend the tax cuts(cutting some and not others). I would rather we let all of the tax cuts expire and everyone equally paid a little bit more. BUT I'm really not happy with the idea that we can extend all of them when we are in record levels of national debt, which is what my party espouses. No our current president didn't have much time to fix the economy...and any good/harm he did probably won't be evident

A post!

So Beowulfa recieved the Burning Crusade as one of her many christmas presents. As a side note, she also recieved a picture of a chick with a pet lion. Sort of like Angharad. Anyways, we're poking Drenai characters in a "ooo that would be cool" kind of way. Since it was her birthday present and all... and if the characters were not BElf or Spacegoat then it wouldn't be using the present! So we're going to at least get them to 10. And BElf's are too... pretty in an ugly way. I don'ts like them. She doesn't like them(much?). I said Spacegoat. She quickly created a male drenai priest(this morning). We talked about it at lunch and she's going to make a paladin instead, I think. I slightly warned her off of priest because I've heard they solo about as well as a warrior heals. I'm.... undecided. We have warrior, paladin, mage, priest, shaman, hunter. I've been told I need to be something tankish. So mage and priest are gone. I'm definin
