Haywire

My computer is going haywire this morning. It's working but ... it's off. And my iPod is not charging. And my two computer guys are not around to fix it. I knew there were advantages to having Damm's brother live with us ...

I had a very bright idea last night. See, I have a friend that we walk with Mondays and Wednesdays. Her schedule changed this week, however, so now I don't have anything to do those nights. I haven't spent a night alone since my mom left. I've made tremendous efforts to be out and about every morning and every evening. Helps the time pass faster.

So we went over to the mother-in-law's house (she wasn't there-she was at a meeting) and walked our usual route in her neighborhood. And then I decided to make Snickerdoodles. Damm loves Snickerdoodles.

I got the mixing/measuring stuff out. Couldn't get the sugar down without setting Miniorc down so I did that and ... wait for it .... Let the Crying Begin! He cried the entire time I was mixing, rolling the balls out and dipping them into the sugar/cinnamon mix. I only did half of the batter. I managed to clean the counters but the dishes cover the entire sink area. I promised I would do them today.

The Bright Side: Orclette LOVES Snickerdooodles. She also thought it would be fun to accompany the Miniorc as he cried and cried and cried.

That was not my brightest idea.

Fortunately they both fell asleep easily (all that crying) and we all got a full night's sleep. So we are ready to tackle today and all the other bright ideas I get.

Must remember that I am not Superwoman. Or at least that I am Superwoman but have two little Superme's that are her greatest challenge yet.

Pictures I have drawn.

Here are some of the things I doodle during class. They are on horrible notebook paper and the lines are about as even as a three day drunk's walk is straight but the design is there. I plan to when I get home to a ruler... good pencils... and decent paper... redo some of them. Anyways. Here they are. Comments for each picture are below the picture they are commenting on.

I think it looks like a bunny. There is a myth in here somewhere... but I couldn't decide what it was.

This one I'm thinking of getting a tattoo of(the cross above).

This one I did for a battle. He says he's going to get it on his back but keeps putting it off.

A classmate asked me to draw the word army with thorns around it.

There is another nice one in the form of two rings interlinked (making a figure 8) but it has all of our real names and we're not exactly keen on sharing those just yet.

Cough gag fuss.

Hi interwebs. Dammerung here.

I just spent almost two hours clearing out all the blogs I don't currently read from my feed reader and reading up on all the ones I do read. The list went from 165 to like... 12. 99% of the blogs I removed were WoW based blogs which I simply do not read right now due to not playing since January? Sometime this last spring.

Me and Wulfa will be playing again. It will just be after I get home and after we get a second laptop.

Army stuff: TRADOC... sucks. Full of extra stupid rules just because one private out of 400 can't manage to keep his stuff or his body clean. Or one private out of 50 can't keep from bringing food into the barracks. Or one private out of 20 can't keep his mouth shut and out of fights. I cannot wait to graduate. 37 days 12 hours left I think.

------------------------------
Just so you know... getting in shape... one of the best things that ever happened to me. I've been on profile for the last month and am having to get back in shape and as I'm doing it I'm realizing how much better I felt when I ran daily. How much more rested I was when I got physical exercise every day. If you don't do something for exercise please.... start. You'll be rather shocked at how better life is.

Oh... yeah last thursday I was given permission to start running again. Yay! Stupid surgery. And on the 15th... pushups!

Lesseee.... what else......

Not really sure. I think that is it. Talk to you guys later.

Dammerung.

Later

I've heard the children most often hear the word "no." The Orclette does hear that word but even more frequently she hears the word "later."

"Mama I need lunch!"
"Later, baby. I need to calm Miniorc down (I am too slow to feed him at times. He doesn't appreciate that)."

"Mama I hold you in my lap!" (that is exactly how she says that. She means that I need to hold her in my lap.)
"Just a minute, Miniorc isn't done eating yet."

"Mama I poopy! Change. Me!"
"Mama's resting right now. I'll do it in just a couple of minutes." (At this point the Miniorc is done eating and is finally sleeping and I have utterly no desire to move.)

The Orclette has so absorbed the concept of later that now she'll voluntarily tell me to do things later.

"I gonna hold you later."
"Momma change me later."
"Read to me later."

And so on. I make an attempt to not always push off things til later-her little piece of chocolate in the morning she gets immediately upon waking. Poopy diapers are -usually- changed as soon as I notice them. When a hug is asked for I try to comply right then. Kisses for booboos are either applied directly or sent via the wind towards her :D

And to put things in perspective: she gets things before I do. I make sure Miniorc's needs are met, then hers, then the apartment's, then me. And that is how it should, for the most part, be. (I am a firm believer in doing things for yourself and by yourself, which is why I made such a big deal out of going to the gym for an hour almost every day. Total sanity saver.)

And I constantly tell her that when daddy gets home neither of us will have to wait til "later." Because we will finally be waited upon by an adoring and loving husband/father who is just waiting for the chance to be at our beck and call :D
