Are you ready?

School started today. I have the following courses:

Spanish 211: the final semester!

Egyptian History: I'm most excited about this course. First class tomorrow-I'm looking forward to getting the syllabus. Yes, I'm a nerd.

20th Century European History: Recently took the survey course. This class I'm taking because it falls in the correct time slot. I think it'll be interesting, however.

Teaching History: Online, and something I'm interested in. I think it's gonna be great-the teacher sent out an email today that basically said he'll get us more info about the course on Monday. I love my history department. All of the courses have been awesome, but organization has not always been a strong point.

So are you ready? Four months of being immersed in this stuff, I'm gonna want to share all my newfound knowledge. I restrained myself last semester-only a couple papers/thoughts were shared. That was in part because we were overstressed and overworked. Our schedule is less stressful this semester. /gleeful chuckle.

Another note on education: I picked up a book entitled Our Lincoln edited by Eric Foner (ISBN 9780393337051). Lots of essays by prominent historians covering many of the issues that surround Lincoln. I've already started highlighting stuff. With the 150th anniversary just around the corner, lots of stuff concerning the Civil War is getting published. I recommend this book. Not too light but not a tome, either.

This is something I did for my grandparents.

I took a sheet from my celtic designs coloring kit, used illuminating paint to do the gold and blue, bought the compass stamp, and crafted the "G" that's in the middle. The frame is gold-can't really tell from the picture, but it really compliments the gold paint. Not sure if you could call this art-other than the calligraphy-because I used stuff that already existed. I like to call it my "altered art".

I feel really productive now, since I've told you guys what I'm reading (not a fiction book!) and shown my latest artistic endeavor. Rest assured, many moments in my day are also spent reading fluffy books and watching t.v. During the break, at least. During the semesters I'm actually very productive, and I'm not ashamed to say it.

And I've had my 1/4 C. of wine (yes, I measure), I've done a bit of reading, no homework yet, no energy for another art project. I think my day is done. Later all.

Guildless.

Me and Wulfa are now guildless. This came as kinda a shock and with no communication from the deciding party. I'm currently looking for a guild for us. We are not "raiders" and will never be. We do research our gear and fights and in general our classes. We are looking for a guild that we can be a part of, chat with, and not be expected to raid or be on specific times. I think that means we're looking for a "social" guild. We are primarily alliance but once finances get squared away(aka my bonus arrives) we could possibly convert to horde. If anyone knows of any guilds that they would recommend please let us know.

New Stuff

On being Horde.

Obviously we no longer play Horde side. Wulfa has a 70, 45, 32 and numerous other alliance alts now. I've got a 63, 46, 20, 16, 11, 8, 8 Alliance side(all my alliance alts are new since we moved over to Kael'thas, wulfa's playing two characters that already existed before our horde characters were started). But we are two and a half ORCS. Not two and a half random alliance characters. This makes it hard sometimes when I see links to my site or I see a horde shaman etc. It is kind of like going back to your home town and seeing people you used to know and they ask you how your ex-girlfriend is doing. They don't know you split up. You don't really want to talk about it. Etc. Sometimes I think fondly about getting on my Horde shaman and leveling a bit. Nothing ever comes of it. And even less will in the future as I get further and further away from wanting to play those toons. There are things I like on the Alliance side. I like the Dreanai. A lot. Even th...
