INSANITY. Measurements.

For Wulfa.

Chest: 37"
Waist: 31"
Hips: 35"
Bicep: 11"
Leg: 22.5"

Last Week:
Measurements: Chest 37" (different clothing, not different size), Waist 31.5" (Whoopee!), Hip 35.5".

I decided to include arms and legs because that's where I'm seeing improvement right now. My arms are leaner but more defined and I'm seeing muscles in my thighs I haven't seen for years.

And I made a mistake. I weighed myself. I had gained 2 pounds. I wanted to quit.

Fortunately this morning I was reading about "Bottom Line Thinking" in my John Maxwell book and so I focused on what my bottom line goal is for this workout: to get ready for marathon training. And I'm seeing improvement-I can actually push through some of the workouts now instead of collapsing on the floor. And the jumps/power moves/etc. are becoming more doable.

I am going to start a food journal, however. We are not following the food guide sent with INSANITY because our diet was very close to their program anyway. But the temptation to eat more because you just survived a grueling workout is high and I want to make sure that I'm not doing that. At the same time ... I have to eat enough calories. Miniorc is far from weaned and I have to have enough energy to feed him, power through these workouts, and keep up with all the projects I create for myself to do.

And so, caught between wanting to lower my caloric intake and knowing that I can't afford to go too low, I logged onto the Beachbody forums. Lots of stuff there, but I made my way to the message board and the posts concerning INSANITY. And almost everyone said to throw away the scale. That many of the gains are made in the 2nd month anyway and that the scale is too arbitrary. All things I knew anyway (well, not about the gains in INSANITY being made in the 2nd month).

I can't do it. I can't throw away the scale. I'm not sure if it's my crutch, or any other type of security blanket. But I ain't gonna weigh myself again until we're done with INSANITY. And the next time we go through the INSANITY cycle I think we should get our body fat measured before and after.

So, Damm's measurements.

Chest: 39"
Waist: 35"
Bicep: 12.5"
Leg: 23"

Last Week.
39.5" chest, 37" waist

So a huge improvement for Damm in the waist. We'll see next week how the arms and legs are doing. It's kind of scary that my leg measurement is almost the same ... but then females usually have more leg muscles.

The Cat is Out of the Bag

I wonder where that expression comes from? There is this fabulous book that can tell you, only I forgot the name of it. Next time I come across it I think I'm going to have to buy it. Anyway. I was going to wait. A long time. Maybe forever. I don't like people coming up and hugging me, smiling and saying congratulations, or asking me questions. But Damm was talking to his recruiter about insurance. And he mentioned something that he should've told the recruiter was non-repeatable, because 5 minutes later the recruiter told Damm's mother (I have no earthly idea why he's talking to her-I keep forgetting to ask). After that I had to tell my mother. We haven't told any extended family members because there are quite a few here celebrating Damm's mother's graduation and that would be the worst form of torture I can imagine. So yeah, I'm knocked up again :P And this time I'm getting the t-shirt. "It" is due August 11. I have not been to a doc...

A tanking guide.

Here is the situation: Your guild has been busy all day long while your at work. You finally get home and log in and are informed that the GM(and main tank) is about to leave and you are now assigned tanking duty. You start to panic. You don't know what to do. And agro is already spiralling out of control. Ever been in that situation? I have. So I decided I would write a guide for this very situation. Step 1) Are the appropraite debuffs up? Step 2) Do you have the tools? Step 3) Are you practicing the fundamentals? Step 4) Are you prepared for the long haul? And Step 5) How to finish with a resounding silence. Are the appropriate debuffs up? You absolutely MUST have these debuffs up to start and you need to keep them up. There are only two of them and here they are in the order of priority: a) Clean Diaper. If Orclette's Diaper isn't clean you won't be able to contain the agro. I don't care how good your other fundamentals are. This is a MUST HAVE and should be chec...
