Our washer broke. :(

I think this bit is the actual engine. The grime made identification hard. But yeah the belt caught fire.

Yikes. Looks like a bearing seized, started dragging on the belt until it fired.

Hopefully it won't cost too much.

if you have to get a new washer i suggest a front loader. They spin faster so things come out of the washer partially dry so it requres less heating. Also it uses less water and is less damaging on clothes than an agitator. Just some of the pros i wont go back to a top loader after getting our first front loader.
